Home Care Frontline Workers Bootcamp

Leading the way in home care

Workshop overview:

Frontline workers deliver home care services in unique workplaces – the homes of the people they care for.

They are out of line of sight, without immediate support from colleagues and can experience greater risk across metropolitan, regional, rural and remote delivery settings.

This intensive jam-packed 4 X 30-minute bootcamp is co-designed by feedback received by ACCPA Members Services, Home Care specialist advisors and facilitation experts in their field.

It includes managing conflicts with families, staying safe, recognising clinical deterioration and when to report and strategies to address discrimination against workers.

Learn ‘just in time’ practical skills that you can apply immediately in your work role as a care worker.

  • Increase knowledge of hoarding behaviours in older people and learn strategies to minimise immediate risks to health.

Session 4: 17 October 2024 – Creating a Safe Space: Responding to Discrimination in Home Care Service Delivery

Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. It also offers practical ways to deal with prejudice and handle challenging family members.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain confidence setting personal boundaries at work.
  • Manage tough conversations and learn how to respond to racial discrimination in the workplace.
  • Know how to deal with difficult families.
